Reports To: President, Asian American Chamber of Commerce

About The Asian American Chamber of Commerce

The mission of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) is to encourage, facilitate and support the economic growth and sustainability of the greater Washington area community by building bridges and serving as a resource for the APA business community. AACC achieves this mission through business networking programs, summits, expos, business development workshops, seminars, and other special programs and events.

JOB TYPE: Part Time

SUMMARY OF ROLE

  • Recruiting new members and engaging existing members

  • Developing strategy and executing plan to bring sponsorship to support chamber program

  • Responsible for external communications and marketing for The Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and Recruit new members through relationship development. Achieve membership goals and grow the overall chamber membership

  • Improve new member involvement and engagement in chamber activities

  • Solicit corporate sponsors to support chamber programming

  • Creating customized investment packages for prospective sponsors as well as renew and grow investment for existing sponsors

  • Manage engagement and renewal process

  • Responsible for external communications and marketing for The Asian American Chamber of Commerce. This includes the development of strategic marketing and communications plans, fundraising, advertising, graphics, social media, in-house publications, email newsletters, web presence, media relations and overall branding.

  • Assists and attends monthly and annual Chamber events

  • Accepts other duties as assigned

The candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the customer value, business development in order to successfully grow the organization. Should be accustomed to working in an environment where success is achieved through close internal collaboration, integrity, a balance of data-driven and intuitive skills, and a willingness to “roll up the sleeves” to get the job done.

  • Provide high level of interactive service to membership base, building relationships and a referral network with the ability to motivate and inspires others.

  • Highly motivated, passionate and creative team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization. Able to build trust and strong working relationships with leaders, members, the business community and other parties that affect chamber operations.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner

  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills with demonstrated skills in the design and execution of marketing and communication activities.

  • Good decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement the best solution to solve problems or challenges. Able to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of self-motivation and self-direction. Able to plan, schedule, and organize professional schedule to complete actions within established deadlines, handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a high pressure environment.

  • Proven ability to achieve a high level of success signing on new members/investors and retaining current members, meet and exceed membership/investor targets, develop new members/investors and manage relationships with key members/investors.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and design software.

  • Enthusiasm, good attitude, self-motivated, trustworthiness, integrity, perseverance.
